MBD Studio launches its new website, three years in the making
The studio that builds websites for a living has finally finished its own. The new mbdstudio.ca puts real, live client work front and centre.
MAHONE BAY, N.S., November 1, 2026 — MBD Studio, the Mahone Bay web, e-commerce and digital marketing studio, today launched its new website at mbdstudio.ca. It has been three years in the making.
Yes, a web studio took three years to launch its own website. In our defence, we were busy launching everyone else’s.
What’s new
- Real work, front and centre. The homepage opens on a stack of live client websites, each one scrolling through its real homepage. The Live sites page shows every site we’ve built that’s live today: click through and visit any of them.
- Eight case studies. Oak Island Legend, PureGard, Grand Water Offices, My Sticky Little Secret, Visit Mahone Bay, Freedom Gold, the Chester Fire Services Committee and Brain Power Studio. Each one covers the challenge, what we did and the result.
- Meet Cuppa. The studio’s new mascot, a small pink mug with big opinions, greets visitors on the homepage. Click him. He likes it.
- Built the way we build for clients. Fast, accessible and easy to find, in dark and light modes, built with Astro.
- Partners, not projects. Our clients partner with us for the long term, from Mahone Bay Tourism & Chamber of Commerce (since 2020) to Chester Fire Services Committee and My Sticky Little Secret (since 2023).
A word from Michael
“For three years, our own website was the project that always waited for next month,” said Michael Broley, Founder and Creative Director of MBD Studio. “Every hour went to client launches, and honestly, that’s the right problem to have. When we finally sat down to build it, we wanted it to do what our clients’ sites do: show real work, load fast and make it easy to get in touch.”
