Oak Island Legend
Bringing a legend back: two sold-out seasons and a waitlist thousands long.

The challenge
Oak Island is one of the most famous treasure-hunting sites in the world. Public tours paused in 2020. In 2024, Oak Island Legend brought us in to get ready for their return.
Demand was never in question. The work was making sure every system could keep up with it, from the first ticket sold to the last guest on the waitlist.
What we did
- 01
Built the original website for the relaunch, then took it to the next level in 2026 with a custom Astro build on Netlify.
- 02
Set up ticketing on Tidal, a Canadian provider built to handle sell-out volume.
- 03
Moved retail from Square to Shopify, and kept the shop selling through its move to a new location.
- 04
Built a custom waitlist app for sold-out dates. Each date has its own queue, with statuses for waiting, contacted, booked and passed. It has one-click email templates, search, CSV export and an end-of-season report for the board.
- 05
Run email marketing, social media and tour communications year-round, including the Interpretive Centre launch and guest photo campaigns.
The result
Tours returned in 2025 and sold out. The 2026 season sold out too. The waitlist now runs thousands of names deep, and every opening goes straight to the next guest in line.
